Aquiring Property In Canada
There are no restrictions for non-residents purchasing Real Estate in Canada. Those who do purchase Real Estate in Canada become subject to Canadian Income Tax laws and are still subject to all laws regarding Immigartion, Citizenship, and Residency.

Property Transfer Tax will also be encountered with the purchase of Real Estate in Canada. This is a registration tax payable based on fair market value at the time of ownership transfer. Currently the rate of taxation is 1% on the first $200,000 and 2% on the balance of the sale price. This is not to be confused with Annual Porerty Taxes for services received by local government.
